For general university staff members (management and teaching staff): 'Recent developments with respect to higher education in Europe'
During a conference held in Bologna Italy in June 1999 the European state secretaries for education and research decided to undertake a modernization of the higher education. All European Union, with a total population over 500 million. In a number of conferences over the last 15 years this has been and still is - worked out in many ways, like reforming the traditional Eurapean universities, establishing new universities of applied sciences, and defining an overarching framework of comparable and compatible qualifications and competences.
For IT-department staff (management and teaching staff) and interested students:
'Innovative information modeling and database/datawarehouse design with FCO-IM' Fully Communication Oriented Information Modeling (FCO-IM) is a powerfull conceptual information modeling method developed by a Dutch research group led by myself, starting in the last decade of last century. Apart from many publications, it is supported by an English languange course book and a book with exercises (handouts are available for free) and case studies and powerful tooling (developed by BCP Software, available for free as well). FCO-IM has proven its value in complex big project, related to transactional and business intelligence systems. These projects were almost all carried out by big Dutch systems houses for companies and institutions in The Netherlands and USA. Recently a new introduction course book, written by members of my former research group, was published in USA.
